Howdy, people of the interwebz! Tonight we finally got back to a somewhat normal schedule after a few weeks of outings. It started out with a bit more hangout & chat time than usual. After that, we watched Tim Hawkins sing about Chick-Fil-A. See that video below.
After the video, we talked a bit more, then moved into worship. Tonight’s songs were. “Love Riot” by Worth Dying For, “I Am Not the Same” by Unhindered, “Captivated” by Shawn McDonald, and “The Stand” by Hillsong. Following our time of worship, Corey prayed and we moved on.
Our next item of business tonight was announcements. After each item, we ended up talking for a bit, so announcements took longer than usual. Anyway, here’s that info:
- Car Wash is Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Please be at the church at 9:30 AM to help get setup. Continue to pray for no rain…should we have to cancel due to rain, you’ll get a text and it will be posted via our social media outlets.
- Mall Trip…August 24th…maybe? This is still kind of up in the air because various people can and can’t go. If we do go, we’ll be going to Park City Mall and leaving at 5:30 PM.
- Back-to-School Party…Next Wednesday. We’ll have games and other fun stuff planned. Invite a friend?
- We’re still collecting for the “Cup of Water” thing from convention. The goal is $20 and we’re about half way there (the last time we counted at least) – Bring in your change/money for that so we can reach our goal! 🙂
Following the announcements, we watched a video to introduce Corey’s mini message. You can watch that here.
After the video, Corey began his message by talking about his recent trip to a Christian camp in New Jersey. He talked about taking a walk while at camp and the various paths that he could choose to follow. The point of his story was to remind us to make sure we’re on the path to following God, not anything else. Tonight’s key verse/main scripture was Matthew 7:13-14
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Following the mini message, Corey prayed to end that part of the night and we listened to the story of how Madi needs to be placed in a bubble (Just kidding, Madi – we’ll be praying for you) 🙂
We spent the rest of the night hanging out outside, where we were “supposed to” help pull weeds in the parking lot. Most teens opted to play football instead though. Thanks to Corey for pulling those weeds though… 🙂
That’d be all for tonight. Have an awesome week & we’ll see you on Saturday!
QOTW: How has your week been going? We heard from a few tonight, but it’d be cool to hear more stories.
