Howdy y’all…okay, I’ll stop. Tonight was another great night that started out with some chat & hang out time. In that time, we made & enjoyed popcorn, as well as some candy that Heather brought in. After that, we moved onto announcements.

  • Ice Skating – Our ice skating trip is scheduled for this Saturday from 7-10 pm, but we’re not 100% sure that we’ll be going. Keep an eye on our social media feeds for info. Links are at the bottom of this post.
  • Spaghetti Dinner – We’re having a spaghetti dinner to help raise money for convention on Sunday, February 10th following the service. Please plan to be here to help with that.
  • T-Shirts – We’re still thinking about doing tie-dye T-shirts for convention. If you’d like to order one of the printed shirts, see Brad. The cost is approximately $12.
  • Convention – More information is coming, but tonight Heather updated everyone on their totals and reminded us of the estimated total cost of $130. We also discussed that we’d like to plan where to eat before hand, so leave comments on this post or on the convention page. You can also leave convention questions & comments there to be answered by a leader. Following the announcement, we showed the convention promo video.

Following the video, we moved into our time of worship. Tonight’s songs were “Your Grace Is Enough” by Chris Tomlin, “Blessed Be Your Name” by Tree 63, and “The Stand” by Hillsong. Following our worship time, Corey prayed, then we moved on the mini message.

Tonight’s message discussed Jesus & his true mission, using John 7:1-6.

After this, Jesus went around in Galilee. He did not want to go about in Judea because the Jewish leaders there were looking for a way to kill him. But when the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles was near, Jesus’ brothers said to him, “Leave Galilee and go to Judea, so that your disciples there may see the works you do. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.” For even his own brothers did not believe in him.

Therefore Jesus told them, “My time is not yet here; for you any time will do.

The message also used John 6:53 to remind us that just as we need food & drinks to live physically, we need Jesus to live spiritually.

Tonight’s lesson ended early, so we spent the remainder of the night playing Mad Gab.

QOTW: Since we discussed this for convention, where do you like to eat out?
