What’s Up Emerge? I’m assuming you’re looking for a blog post tonight, even though I’m a bit behind schedule. Tonight we started out with an extended version of everyone’s favorite, chat time. We discussed life, and the hurricane that we experienced earlier this week. After the chat time, we announced that we are canceling the worship night scheduled for this Friday and will reschedule later.
Following that, we moved into worship. Tonight’s songs were “I Am Not the Same” by Unhindered and “The Stand” by Hillsong. After worship, Corey prayed and we then spent the night discussing a few questions you had based on last week’s episode of the Gospel Journey as well as some discussion questions from the publishers. Here are some scriptures that were referenced during tonight’s discussion.
John 3:16 NIV:
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 10:9 NIV:
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Acts 2:46-47 NIV:
46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Romans 1:18-21 NIV:
18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.
That’d be all for tonight, folks. Have a great week!
