What’s up Emerge? Tonight began with our usual chat time, followed by worship. Tonight’s worship songs were “Today Is The Day” by Lincoln Brewster, “Forever Reign” by Kristian Stanfill, “Desert Song” by Hillsong, and “Alleluia” by Jesus Culture. Following worship, Anna prayed and we moved on.

Next came announcements…or announcement tonight. I announced the new Facebook page “Have You Prayed Today?” that I started a few weeks ago. Click on the title of it to visit the page.

Tonight’s mini message was next. Tonight continued our series and talked about Isaac. We talked about how God provided for Isaac in a few ways during his life. First off, in Genesis 22, Abraham is told to sacrifice Isaac (as a test from God). When he’s about to be sacrificed, an angel stopped Abraham and provided a ram. Then, in Genesis 24, one of Abraham’s servants is sent to find a wife for Isaac, and after praying to God, the first woman that the servant finds ends up being the one. In both circumstances, God provided for Isaac and his family. He’ll provide for us too, if we pray for what we need & believe that He’ll provide it. (Key word there being need, not ¬†necessarily wants).

The message ended as we discussed ways that God provided for us. The first example that I gave was that the worship team prayed for equipment that was ¬†needed a few months ago and recently it was donated. Another example that was discussed was that God provided for us by letting us freely worship Him. We’re blessed to live in the US where there’s no persecution for being a Christian.

After the message, we spent the rest of the night playing Mad Gab.
