Tonight was a bit different than usual, at least the usual we’ve become used to recently. It started off with our typical chat/hang out time, which began discussing all kinds of randomness. We eventually had to cut that off and moved into worship. Tonight’s songs were “One Way” by Hillsong, “Our God Saves” by Paul Baloche, “Closer” by Worth Dying For, and “How Great Is Our God” by Hillsong United. Following worship, Anna prayed and we moved onto a few announcements.
- See You At the Pole is 2 WEEKS from today! It’s the morning of September 26th at your school’s flagpole. (We also watched a promo video for See You At the Pole tonight.)
- We’re still collecting for the PennDel Cup of Water / Speed the Light thing. We have about $15, so we’re getting closer. Bring in change?
- The church is having another car show this Saturday from 2-4 pm. Come out & see the cars and support the Royal Rangers Ministry.
- Gospel Journey – We’ll be resuming next week if all goes well. In case you didn’t know, Corey has been battling some health problems this week. Please continue to pray for him.
After the announcements, Anna passed out a few playing cards to each of us, then began her mini message entitled “The Cards That You’ve Been Dealt,” which discussed dealing with the things that come our way in life, or in other words, our cards. Tonight’s key verses were James 1:2-4
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds,3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
Anna reminded us that God knows what we’re going through, and uses those circumstances to work in our lives. As part of the message, we watched the following video.
Following the video, Anna wrapped up the message, then Madisyn asked to show another video that tested our awareness of what was happening. You’ll have to watch the video to see exactly what I mean.
After that video, we played two games. The first game asked us to identify the sayings based on pictures. The first one in that game was the word standard written twice, which was double standard. After taking a few minutes to try to identify all of the different pictures, we went over the answers. Then, we played a game where we had to identify the number that went with each scenario. An example from that one is the number of sides on a stop sign, which would be 8.
Following the games, we spent the rest of the night hanging out.
QOTW: Did you see the moonwalking bear? (If this stumps you, look through everything from tonight’s post…hehe!)
