Hello Emerge! Happy Wednesday!

Tonight started off with some hang out time as usual. Worship tonight was preceded with a note that a few of the songs we sung were from the band that will be at convention. Those songs were Love Riot, Forever Reign, Here I Am to Worship, and The Stand. Afterwards, Anna prayed and we moved on.

We spent a few minutes talking about football and other random things. Then, we showed the convention promo video again and talked about convention. As you might remember from last week, this year’s band is Worth Dying For and the speaker is Reggie Dabbs. We’ll be staying at the Best Western Hotel in Hershey, which is the closest hotel to the Giant Center. As for fundraisers, continue selling your candy bars and we’ll be having a spaghetti dinner/silent auction on February 12th. More details about the spaghetti dinner will be coming soon. Full convention details can be found at emergeyouth.org/convention.html.

Anna then reminded us that we’ll be rescheduling the Youth Skit for April. Stay tuned. After all that, we took a look at the newsletter Katie created. You can view that here. Thanks to Katie for a great job!

Before tonight’s mini message, Anna read a list of real “warning labels” that appear on products. There were some funny ones. Feel free to post your favorite in the comments below. Anna’s message began with us listening to the song “Live Like You’re Dying” by Kris Allen. Tonight we discussed “The Great Commission” and how each of us is called to “Go ye into all the world…” to tell others about Jesus. The scripture was from Matthew 28:16-20. Anna reminded us that we have the cure for the people who are spiritually dying because they don’t know the Lord.

After the message, Anna prayed and we spent some time playing games on the Wii / hanging out. We also watched a video of the song “Love Is Here” by Tenth Avenue North, who was the artist of the week in Katie’s newsletter.

That’d be it for tonight. Have a great week and we’ll see you on Sunday!
